I'm a writer from the West Texas desert, where the sun, mountains, and stars are royalty. My lifelong love for writing has shown up in different ways over my life: fiction, news writing, and professional communications.

My career began in journalism more than 7 years ago and has now transitioned into corporate communications, which isn't a transition I anticipated but I'm grateful for. My background in journalism has produced a knack for speed and quick judgment, while remaining detail-oriented and highly organized. I aim to bring creativity to any role, and I’m always eager to learn the next thing.

Professionally: that thing at the moment is growing my leadership and content strategy skills, specifically how to reach global audiences with different needs and learner types. Personally: that thing is finding more opportunities to write for myself, regardless of the topic.

Beyond my experience and the attributes I bring to my work, I am driven by three core values:

  1. Integrity: A high school teacher once explained to me that integrity is who you are when no one is watching. I’ve clung to that definition ever since, and aim to be a person of integrity no matter who is watching.
  2. Reliability: In any commitment, personal or professional, it’s crucial to me to follow through. I strive to be a person that creates confidence and security in others—when something is in my hands there shouldn’t be a question whether it will get done.
  3. Adaptability: In a communication environment, every day can look different—the message, the situation, and the audience—which is why it’s key for me to remain adaptable and ready for the next challenge.
